My little baby <3

About three days ago, my aunts gardener found an abandoned kitten and knowing us to be the feline-loving people we are, he promptly brought it over. The baby was so incredibly small and incredibly loud. His eyes hadn’t even opened yet!! I still have suspicions about where he found it.. because I know for a fact that cats move their kittens place to place.. and I’d like to believe he wasn’t abandoned but merely awaiting his mommy’s return.

Me and my sister took care of him until my other pregnant cat, Bubbles, gave birth. And then we sneaked him in the cupboard when she wasn’t looking and guess what?

SHE ACCEPTED HIM!! We didn’t think she would because A) he didn’t smell like her other kittens B) he was too big C) he was furry-er D) uh.. but anyway, the point is.. she did. She had four kittens before, Baby made a 5th.

I was relieved. He was so hungry and moody when it came to feeding (we used a rubber ink dropper) .. and the milk had to be at the right temperature (10 seconds in the microwave) or else he wouldn’t drink it. Sometimes he used to fall asleep sucking my fingers, it gives them comfort I suppose.

AND I FED HIM. (: His tiny ears would twitch back and forth in the cutest way when he suckled.

He ish mine. MINE. Muahahahaa.

*Cough. Well anyway, here’s my baby:

Now he’s so happy he won’t stop suckling, hehe. As for the other kittens - one of which looks like Aiko - I shall post photos when Bubbles gets out of her attack mode. Although, she seems to be very partial to my sister and even lets her pet them. -glares at her-

I have a thing.. for such things

A week or so ago, a beautiful creature visited our garden. I’d never seen one like that before; fluttering to it’s hearts delight. But it kept dropping back to the ground for some reason. In my expe honest opinion, I thought it would die because, that’s usually how they act. I took pictures albeit blurry ones.

This morning, another visited; similar but not quite. It’s wings were two patterned - violet on black on top, monarch-like beneath. It was stuck in the mud trying to hop out of it when I had an idea…

But then she (because my mind refuses a he) didn’t move far away when I neared her. On closer look, I realized her wings were torn. I reached out to touch it and she could barely flutter away. It was tragic. I knew she was nearing death soon. I wanted to comfort her but didn’t know how, so I kept her company for a while. And then realized I must be terrifying her with my closeness. So I let her be.

Twenty minutes or so later, she stopped living. I named her Maeve, for the joyful spirit that was her.

And I take it back, Diggy was quite pretty for a dragonfly.

Ze libellula!

I was happy stu procrastinating when a dragonfly comes out of nowhere and goes psycho on my fluorescent light bulb. For a moment there I felt sorry for it constantly ramming it’s head into the light again and again. But there was something about that repetitive action that had me in fits of laughter soon after. When I no longer heard it’s buzzing, I glanced up to find it perfectly still and deathly silent. Poor thing must’ve been dead beat.

Realizing how rare an opportunity this was, I rushed to get my brother’s camera (having to actually wake him up at 1 AM to ask where the batteries were) and started snapping a couple hundred pictures of it with the hopes of it being extremely pretty, colorful and use-able.

But little did I know it still had anger issues. In the middle of it’s photo shoot, it suddenly sprung to life, causing me to almost fall off the chair I was delicately balanced on, only to start attacking the light again.

Dragon Flies!

The process repeated, Diggy (yes I named him) would get silent after a while, allowing me to happily snap away at it — but would soon scare me enough to fall down by it’s insane need to attack the light once more.

I transfered the photos to my laptop and then to PS (since the lighting was very very bad). Now don’t let the numbers fool you, I didn’t take that many. But I have to say, I was extremely disappointed to see that Diggy was neither pretty nor colorful OR even fairy-ish! But it did have an interesting pattern which made me think it was probably related to a bumble bee. 3 or 4 times removed, of course.

Diggy Diggy, ze dragonfly

It feels funny to blog twice in the same week. But whatever. I owe it to Diggy.
