It’s such a lovely day!

It’s so awesome outside. There’s just the right amount of sunlight, the right amount of cool breeze. Like how it is before it rains? just not completely so. This is the kind of weather I love. So what am I doing inside? I don’t have spare keys to lock the house if I go out. But I did anyway for a while, it was too nice to stay inside.

The Muslim Community here is really cool. It’s small but it’s like family. There are always little get-togethers and fund raisers and fun stuff to do that everyone organizes (usually the young people). There’s the ‘Young Muslim Sisters Meet’ every other Saturday which is meant to bring awareness among young Muslim girls, being comfortable about your identity, discussing personal stuff etc — all in view of Islam. It’s really nice. Oh and here, all Muslim girls are called Sisters and Muslim men are called Brothers. (Just in case your wondering)

I installed PS Elements, it’s like a mini PS and but most importantly it works on this computer! So now, when I’m free I can design something. -grins- Yeshh I can’t go without designing. Which reminds me, I’ll be adding a non-anime (I’m not a great fan of anime) MSN Icons section for visitors. So look for that in the future.

The other day, I met some really really old friends of mine. Like when I was little. It made me realize how drastically and yet how little we change as we grow older.

Eid Ul-Adha
Category: Islam, Walk of life

Eid Mubarak Tomorrow or rather today (since it’s already AM) is Eid ul-Adha, also known as Bakrid, or “Feast of Sacrifice”. It marks the end of Hajj or holy pilgrimage to Mecca (for those who don’t know). Usually on this day, muslims offer the Eid prayer and then make a ‘Qurban’ or sacrifice. It could be either a goat, a lamb or a camel and then give the meat to charity, family, friends and relatives (each having their own specific requirements).

I know some people would find it cruel sacrificing an animal. But we do it to show our obedience and love to Allah. The day also remembers an event in the past when Prophet Ibrahim (or Abraham, alaihi wassalaam) was commanded by Allah to sacrifice his son to show his love for Him. There are similar stories, as such, in Christianity or Jewish literature, but the versions vary.

Henna/Mehendi All the same, I just can’t wait! My mom’s making sheer kurma (which is a Indian/Pakistani dessert) and it’s my favorite. cute I was planning on putting henna on my hands, but now it’s too late, maybe I’ll get a chance later today. I just adore henna.

I’ve just finished tidying the house and I’m so tired. Thanks for the comments on the layout, sorry if it looks gothic.

I’ll have you know, that’s not blood.. it just looks like it, syrup maybe?

Anyway, I’m off to bed. Eid Mubarak.
