Quirky food associations
Category: Doodling, Humor, Oddity

You know those things that people say about food that make you rethink whether to eat them or not?

For example: Eating chocolates cause pimple/acne outbreaks (which by the way, is not true nor has it been proven to be; Acne does not depend on diet {or sex and/or exercise})

Despite that, every time I eat that piece of chocolate, I brace myself for that pimple that could appear the next day.

When I eat cheese or fatty foods like pizza, I actually have visions of little fat molecules going and clogging my arteries. Observe:

Quirky Food Associations

In reality, it really depends on what kind of fat is in the food; saturated & trans (the bad) vs. poly/mono unsaturated (the good). And they don’t… lounge around like that. This is what it really looks like.

When I eat those olives, which I happen to adore, I visualize them chasing off that fat and clearing up those arteries.

Quirky Food Associations

They don’t really do that either. O_O They are healthy in the way that they help lower bad cholesterol though.

The same goes for other foods. Too much oily food brings on a headache that is sometimes temporarily cured by drinking water. Again, no sound reasoning, only that it “clears” it away for a while.

Before I get carried away, do you guys have weird food associations that go against (or with) logic and literature?

Bleaf

Say hello to the newest addition to the English dictionary, Bleaf: a curious amalgam of blind and deaf, often used in times of extreme frustration.

Real life scenario, bless my baby sister.

Aliases and nicks.

Ah. I actually have a friend who pronounces it like “alien” and have been teased for it. The foot, because I find it infinitely amusing to see my toes poking out from anywhere, like from under the comforter here.

Brain Sex
Category: Humor, Quizzes & Memes

Ever wondered if you think more like a guy or a girl? Well here’s a survey (no, seriously) that tells you just that. And I quote:

“Some researchers say that men can have ‘women’s brains’ and that women can think more like men.

Find out more about ‘brain sex’ differences by taking the Sex ID test, a series of visual challenges and questions used by psychologists in the BBC One television series Secrets of the Sexes…”

Sex I.D. Find out how your mind works!

And all they ask for is a name. The survey, at the most, is more amusing than anything else. The results were a bit intriguing sometimes, and sometimes… unexpected. It’s a good time spend, something I credit Aiko for introducing me to.

As for me, I feel content learning that my brain sex exists somewhere in the female-male continuum… or so they say.

EDIT (23/02/07): Happy Birthday Leo!
EDIT (12/02/07): Happy Birthday Tammy! (sorry for the late wish)
