Xanga misses me
Category: Boredom, Humor
Something strange happened half an hour ago:

I cannot, for the life of me, remember ever creating a Xanga account. Judging by the username (that I refuse to share), it must have been years ago.
I have this funny pattern with online social applications. I will go ahead and create an account, add all of my friends, use all of the cool features that come with the account and then 2-3 months later, delete it. There’s something about having my profile details and photos on those networking sites that makes me feel uncomfortable (notice how it doesn’t bother me when it’s on my site). So Friendster, Bebo, Hi5 and Orkut have all been tried and bid farewell. Let’s see how long Facebook lasts.
Anyway. So, I reset my password to see what I had in there. And unsurprisingly, there was nothing. Zilch. I then proceeded to cancelling my account and then,
Distractions.

There’s this thing about whining kids that’s so distracting…
My baby sister got this stuffed frog, that she named Donkey. I used to steal the cute thing from her and she’d let me. But now, the frog isn’t as cute as it was before, it’s less poof-ier and more wrinkly. And his face gets pimply when you squeeze him. Guess who’s to blame? Exactly.
So what does a good responsible older sister do to satisfy a needy albeit slightly strange younger sister? Why, she gets her a new one of course!
Heh, did I mention she was broke? So does she give it to her? Well you see, while she was staring at the green blob smiling at her, she remembers the whining, complaining and pointing of fingers. So, after tweaking it a bit more, she gives her this instead. Excuse the bad frame and terrible attempt at the ribbons.
On a side note, typing in third person can be confusing. Typing Donkey instead of frog is even more so. But, sometimes you can’t help what you name. I never intended Baby’s name to be Baby, the name stuck. As did Donkey (I hope). In fact, the first cat we’ve ever owned in India was called “Buju” which is basically a nonsensical baby word in Hindi/Urdu. Looking back, it’s a silly name for a cat who is practically the great great great grandmother of all the cats and kittens we have had since. But I digress.
There is a thing about distractions and another about allowing yourself to get distracted. I’m prone to the later.

Dad is back home to visit. My results haven’t come in yet. I think they got lost in the mail. Either way, I still don’t know.
The sky was orange yesterday, I think something exploded..
I painted my nails three different colors today.. they look like tiny flags, barbie style.
In other words, I’ve just been bored.
Ohh right, added stuff to the jewelry section. It’s task really because I upload them to flickr (that’s where most of the stuff in the portfolio redirect too) and then on deviantArt.. and then make thumbnails for the site. But eh, it’s been boring.
A tidbit of sorts

I have the cold. My nose won’t stop running. It might be the dust. Yes, that it might. I remember it being extremely sensitive to dust. Stupid nose. Stupid dust. Or maybe it’s cold water (I’ve slept without drying my hair 2 days straight). Or it might be perfume.. had to attend an iftar party. Oh, did I tell you? We came back around 1 Am. Yep, I’m so tired.. it’s like 5 Am now. I decided to stay awake for saher (that’s when we wake up to eat before sunrise and Fajr prayer.. before the fasting begins), to wake everyone up to eat. See? I’m nice. Sometimes.
I had a reason to blog.. but now I’m just too lazy to type it all out. So infer what you can from these little tidbits –
