Of all the years that I’ve had cats, I don’t think I’ve ever made anything for them. Perhaps I was not craft-inclined as I thought I was back then.
The cats absolutely love this DIY scratch pad. After all that cutting and taping, it’s so very satisfying when they seek it out to scratch or just hang around which is largely due to the catnip. The mouse is hilarious. It might even pass off for being a dolphin at some angles… definitely looked better in my head.
Before the mouse, I attempted sewing a plushie and then another. As ridiculous as they are, I’ll save them for another day or at least until I get around to photographing them.
After I sprinkled catnip on the scratch pad, Zuko lounged around it, scratched on it, played with it (he tried to eat it but it was too big) and then went and bunny hopped on the couch and made a whole mess of the newspapers on it. It was his first time with catnip and boy, was it amusing.

Anyway, lovely crafts for your pets. Somehow our cats aren’t that obedient and needed to stay outside. I’d like to create something like that though. But I am no good with crafts…
