Found in our garden – barely a month old, scared and hungry:
It took her about a day or so to make friends and a week or two to gain Bubbles’ trust – enough so that she lets her nurse along with her own kittens. Sheeba’s around the same age as them, if not younger.
She’s very much the hyper-hungry kitten – burns whatever she eats whenever she plays. I really don’t know how we’re going to get her to put on some kitty fat.
I should mention that Zuko doesn’t like these new comers. The first time he met Sheeba, he chased after her like he would a mouse: tummy low on the ground, ears bent back, shuffling small steps followed by a slow, swishing tail. It scared her something crazy.
Kittens aside, I attempted making pasta sauce the other day. I didn’t follow a recipe but looked up basic ingredients: tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and some grated cheese – I added that in the end. The oregano and basil definitely gave it that Italian pasta sauce flavor and while it wasn’t all that bad, I felt that it was definitely lacking something important.
What am I missing?
Psst: It’ll be even better if you could share a favorite/tried-and-tested pasta sauce recipe.

[...] wasn’t long ago that Sheeba became part of our family. And now (actually three weeks ago) we find another. We found her wet and [...]
that kitty looks so cute!
i’d love to bring one more cat into the house, but my mom would kill me…
as for the pasta sauce – did you start the sauce with the basic olive oil and chopped onions? and the best spice to add, in my opinion, is chilli powder
I didn’t add onions, I went straight to the oil and tomatoes. I must keep these in mind the next time I attempt it…
Wow, that’s a very cute kitty.
What’s that white stuff on her though?
I love her being black =p
We also got a new kitty… just “today”
, Our baby kitten has blue eyes…
One of our past neighbors visited us and brought a baby kitten…
Too bad I don’t have a camera, so I may take photos of them too.
I like eating pasta, but I don’t know to cook, as in anything. waaaaa >.< I would surely love to taste some of your pasta. Will it be better to have it a little spicy?
reply on my post:
I forgot to write on how long is the alloted time for us to create a wallpaper on my post, its 1 hour.
Yeah, I do think I created a good wallpaper on this challenge. Since I don’t really prefer editing pictures, or I just have no talent at photo manipulation… haha. XD That’s why my wallpapers do lack details with vectoring consuming time…
The white is her fur
, she’s a whole mix of colors. Most kittens have blue eyes and when they grow up, it changes to a different color (but some cats retain the blue).
Pasta is relatively easy to make
, you could give it a try. I like most pastas and wouldn’t mind it at all if it were spicy.
Your latest kitty looks really cute. Did I ever tell you Bubbles’ eye colour are absolutely gorgeous? Maybe I just never noticed…
Hmm your pasta sauce might be missing all-spice from what I’ve seen my dad add in. Then again I have no idea how readily available it would be…
I’m surprised I didn’t see any bay leaves on that list either. If not, then add bay leaves might help too. I’ve never seen him add basil… Just take the leaf out after your done with it. Don’t try to eat it D: Wait you might already know about it since apparently it’s used in biryani (oh wiki how you help)
What kind of cheese were you using? I’m trying to remember if Onions are added… I do with mine
Her eye color changes from bright, almost sea-green to a warmer earthy green depending on her mood. When she has kittens and the months following, they’re the prettiest.
I wouldn’t have thought of all-spice. We use Bay leaves all the time in curries and biryani, I should try them next time. The cheese was pizza cheese (the one I used tastes like Cheddar but looks like Mozzarella), but it turns the sauce a little sticky I guess. I also forgot to mention, I added chilli flakes (you know, the ones from Pizza Hut?) and a bit of ketchup.
Really? I never knew the eye colour would change like that.
I think it’s all-spice… I’ll ask him tonight when he comes back. I know the bay leaves are there since I always happen to hit them when I grab sauce =_=; Hmm maybe it might be the type of tomatoes you use too? Do you fresh or canned ones? Could you be using white cheddar? XD;;; Hmmm wait no if it’s pizza cheese….. I wonder if it’s a medley of cheese. You think using Parmesan cheese can help?
I used fresh tomatoes, purée-d them in the blender. LOL about the pizza cheese, I think it is a mix – lemme check.
Oh, well no wonder. Yes, it’s a combination of Cheddar and Mozzarella, it goes by the name Cheeza (don’t ask). If you do try Parmesan, let me know how it turns out, heh.
