How I love thee, Beads

Filed under: Art & Crafts, Hobbies

It’s sad how long it took me to finally upload more portfolio stuff here. I sometimes forget that this blog is also part portfolio… or even remember its existence but thats a different story.

So here is yet another photo post of past amateur(ish) bead work. These were actually made… two years ago. O_O I haven’t touched my bead stash since except to repair jewelry pieces or add more to the collection – which, by the way, started with rescued beads, clasps and the like.

The bracelets below were all given away as gifts. While I was in my beading phase, I would scour for as many bead related crafts as I could. Going through that collection again, I’ve found many more projects to experiment with – like loom work! :D

The beaded stars below were a favorite. I used to make them in bulk because they were just. so. easy. I’ve given away lots more than these here, whether people have wanted them or not. In retrospect, it’s amusing how people humor me like that. =P

The beaded girl was made following a tutorial in a French book. It failed. I modified it a bit but I still ended up with a number of obvious mistakes… I must try this one again.

← These lovely things are called Ladder Rings.

I found the tutorial for them at Beading Daily. They turned out pretty okay except for the ones made with larger beads; those were too bulky and harder to slip on.

And because this post is turning out to be too long, I’ll save the rest for another day. (Plus there is that issue of adding them…)

LOL french bead book? Aren’t you glad you don’t need to understand generally if they provide images? XD; It looks so cute!

I don`t think I`d have the patience but I love looking at them!
