Marking one off

Among the list of things I had wanted to complete when I had the free time I’ve only pursued a few. I remember the anticipation and excitement when time was scarce and my exam was near for the things that I would be able to do once I had taken it. It sure is a strange affliction we have to want to do things when we don’t have the time that make it seem more appealing than it does in reality.

And strangely enough, the days are slipping away way too quickly for my liking. I’m finding it harder to stay updated with the web world, much less anything else.

I’m glad that I finished marathoning (as Tammy would say) Hana Kimi. I find the Japanese version far much more enjoyable than the Taiwanese - although I’m partial to both for different reasons. I liked the J-drama’s diversion from the actual manga immensely and loved it’s ending far more than the other. The comedy definitely appeals.

And I finally got around to reading Harry Potter months after it’s purchase. Having been nearly spoiled a few times, I wasn’t so keen to start but when I did, I hated having to put it down. It was an interesting unraveling throughout, although I wasn’t so pleased with the way it was ended - especially the last chapter and mostly because of the names. It’s still hard to believe that it’s the end.

There are the movies… but I’ve never been fond of them from the start. J.K. Rowling really did amazing job with the books but the movies don’t really cut it. The only one I’ve ever appreciated was the third - and that too, for it’s graphics.

And that’s one book less to read on my list of things to complete before my schedule makes it impossible again.

Haha, well at least you use them well enough… I forget about them altogether o_o

They’re great for re-reading afterwards too, or just parts. And you did marathon them crazy. But that’s relatively okay I guess, considering it would take a few hours or a day to complete a book… and you need time digesting it all. :)

Well I did read the first five books in pretty much one shot (sadly, the 4th and 5th took a bit longer because I was waiting for the 4th one on hold while I had the 5th one in my possession) otherwise, I can say I’ve read them all in the span of I think about 2 weeks… That really contributes to my inability to really go line by line and say they messed up.

I just realized that my other comment did have a lot of semicolons. I didn’t even notice O__________o I do like using them though XD

@ Tammy: For the movies, maybe it’s because I compare it to the book too much and see the diversions away from the text. On the other hand I admire your use of semicolons xP

@ Skye! yess it’s been a while *hugs* miss you too!

@ Camlinh: Now that’s another way to look at it I suppose..

Go Hana Kimi! I have yet to get to it. But I’m behind on Harry Potter…when you get old, time does seem to sweep away but don’t worry, everything works around in the end. Get some rest, don’t dwell to much on little depressing things. Just do more of these marathoning things, brings back good memories :D

Haha! Im in the other side of that. Im busy like crazy and am fantasizing about Christmas break. Will I get much done? maybe, maybe not.

*hugs* I miss you. We keep missing each other on IM

Doing things when you know you don’t have time for it definitely seems more appealing than when there is. It’s so contradictory and yet we continue to do so; I guess that’s what it means to procrastinate.

Yes you finished “marathon-ing” Hana Kimi XD The ending of the Japanese adaptation was more accurate to the manga though. The Taiwanese version actually had rumoured intentions to make a sequel but now they aren’t so that just makes the ending even more dissatisfying to me.

The final HP book was good until the epilogue; thus the epilogue to me does not exist XD; Let’s not get started on the names….

The movies are movies to me so I don’t take it too much to heart in relations to the book. However, I do have the movie’s popularity for really starting to read the books. The only good thing about the 3rd movie was the graphics and taking a chance with that type of style. It would have been awesome to see this sort of style in other movies; just not this one… However, I’m highly biased in that aspect as the 3rd one was my favorite.
