Ze libellula!
Category: Obsessions, Photos
I was happy stu procrastinating when a dragonfly comes out of nowhere and goes psycho on my fluorescent light bulb. For a moment there I felt sorry for it constantly ramming it’s head into the light again and again. But there was something about that repetitive action that had me in fits of laughter soon after. When I no longer heard it’s buzzing, I glanced up to find it perfectly still and deathly silent. Poor thing must’ve been dead beat.
Realizing how rare an opportunity this was, I rushed to get my brother’s camera (having to actually wake him up at 1 AM to ask where the batteries were) and started snapping a couple hundred pictures of it with the hopes of it being extremely pretty, colorful and use-able.
But little did I know it still had anger issues. In the middle of it’s photo shoot, it suddenly sprung to life, causing me to almost fall off the chair I was delicately balanced on, only to start attacking the light again.

The process repeated, Diggy (yes I named him) would get silent after a while, allowing me to happily snap away at it — but would soon scare me enough to fall down by it’s insane need to attack the light once more.
I transfered the photos to my laptop and then to PS (since the lighting was very very bad). Now don’t let the numbers fool you, I didn’t take that many. But I have to say, I was extremely disappointed to see that Diggy was neither pretty nor colorful OR even fairy-ish! But it did have an interesting pattern which made me think it was probably related to a bumble bee. 3 or 4 times removed, of course.
Diggy, ze dragonfly
It feels funny to blog twice in the same week. But whatever. I owe it to Diggy.
