About Aun Existe Amor

The Beginning:

My main purpose to start a site was to keep myself busy. At that time, I had no knowledge of html and no experience in web designing. My brother helped me out, told me to find a host, so I did at Bravenet and used it's html editor to build my site. Now all I needed was a name. I've always found foreign languages intriguing, and one day I was listening to Celine Dion's song "Aun Existe Amor". I looked up the meaning and completely fell in love with what it meant: Love still exists. That's when Aun Existe Amor was born.

The Struggle:

Initially, the only content my site ever had was a single page of quotes. From there it grew to a categorised collection. Soon, I was even hosting a collection of random avatars for MSN and AIM. Eventually I began to design my own. Through trial and error my html skills improved. Dreamweaver helped me through the tough times, but in the end I began to use Notepad more and more. Eventually, I began to find Bravenet annoying with it's various pop-ups, so I switched hosts to Geocities.

One day I discovered CSS and it's style sheets. Since then I've designed a number of layouts, avatars, acquired affiliates, link exchanged and joined button rotations (which I later dropped). Mina, once affiliated, offered to host me when geocities started acting up.

The Progression:

Things went great for a while, Mina was (and still is) the perfect hostess. People seemed to like the designs I make, and called them unique. It would baffle me when I visited sites that used one of my premades. To this date, it still surprises me. Aiko introduced me to Editpad and suddenly coding seemed more convenient. Through time, my html skills showed "some" improvement and I discovered the joys of CSS shorthand.

Then my brother did the unthinkable and gifted me with a domain. It was just awesome. But I didn't move AExA until much much later, because I didn't have the heart to leave Mina's protective care. In the end, I eventually did. And now, I work hard to keep my site updated with as much graphics as time permits me to make. I try to validate the designs and make them optimally viewable in most browsers.

None of this would've been possible if it weren't for my faithful visitors, my wonderful affiliates and link exchanges who've always encouraged me and stayed by my side. I express my deepest thanks to them and wish them well always.
